Opening a TD Waterhouse TFSA account for DRIPs
This week, I applied for a TD Waterhouse discount brokerage account. I will be using this account to purchase my stock certificates in order to start my DRIPs. It's a tedious process, but once the account is set up, all the work will be totally worth it. I am currently participating in Questrade's synthetic DRIP or as they call it, DPP (Dividend Purchase Plan), which is similar to a DRIP, but with a few differences between the two plans.

Not a lot of movement in my portfolio this afternoon.
Research in Motion (RIM.TO) is in the news after announcing poor sales from their smartphones and tablets this quarter as well as decreasing confidence from analysts and investors. RIM has fallen almost 20% since yesterday. RIM is still optimistic about their sales in the future, but I personally see increasing competition from Apple and Google which will make it harder for RIM to achieve their goals.
News about the US unemployment crisis and the Euro Zone debt crisis seem to be holding steady today. But, now there is news of a "rouge" UBS AG trader that has been charged with fraud and false accounting resulting in losses of about$2 billion dollars in unauthorized trades.
The TSX is on a downtrend as of this afternoon.

Comforting news of Greece remaining in the Euro zone, US stocks advancing for the 4th day is causing some uptrend on the TSX.
My portfolio has been trending up as well. I am also seeing some nice dividend distributions activity coming into my portfolio this month. I will have a monthly summary of my dividend income from my portfolio at the end of the month.
How to fix: Bluetooth when Bluetooth Settings is not showing in Windows
I noticed that my Bluetooth wasn't able to discover any of my bluetooth devices on my netbook. After searching the Internet and updating drivers I finally solved the problem.
If you are having this problem try this to see if it fixes problems.
- Go into Services by right clicking the My Computer icon on the desktop
- Find all the services that are related to Bluetooth (I found 2)
- Make sure that all of them are started and...
- Make sure that all the Bluetooth services are starting automatically

Pretty much an uneventful day, no major movement in my portfolio today. I guess the TSX is waiting to see what President Obama is going to say in his speech tonight concerning his plans for job growth in the US.
